Set against a snowy Tokyo on Christmas eve, Gin, Hana and Miyuki, a trio of homeless victims of circumstance discover a baby in a dumpster while searching for Christmas presents. The three are brought together in their mission of reuniting the baby (nicknamed Kiyoko, meaning "pure child") with her parents, following an endless trail of clues and rumours that take them on a wild and magical journey through the Tokyo underbelly.
Written and co-directed by Satoshi Kon, the auteur behind Perfect Blue and Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers is a surrealist tale of heart, spirit and found family that blends a beautiful mix of CGI and hand drawn animation.
